Sally Norvell-Baker, is a fully qualified HR professional – MCIPD, with in excess of 20 years experience working for large international companies, mid size companies, SME’s and start ups.

As a Recruitment Manager for Systems International, a value added reseller (VAR), a fast growing technology SME, she was a key contributor to it successfully being acquired by GE Capital IT Solutions, following an aggressive growth path.

Working for American Express, for over 6 years, in various roles – HR Business Partner, Resourcing Specialist and a Graduate Programme Manager, she completely transformed, in the latter role, the American Express Graduate Programme, to bring about a stronger return on investment for the business, training managers and developing the Employer Branding during that period of change, whilst managing an existing programme.

At Canon UK and Ireland, through her consultancy, HR Resources Limited, she provided a retained part time in – house resourcing service, responsible for recruiting all roles at Head Office and across the UK, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland, as well as working on large recruitment related projects to support Canon in Europe Middle East and Africa.

Her brief at Canon was to remodel the candidate experience, through her involvement in various Employer Branding initiatives and projects. By developing an in – house recruitment strategy and best practices, including up skilling Hiring Managers, optimising ATS systems and improving efficiencies, she developed an effective direct resourcing model, resulting in reducing recruitment spend from 100% recruitment agency usage, to near to zero, far exceeding Canon’s expectations.

During this time, she was also a West Sussex Enterprise Advisor supporting start up companies. as they made their transition from owner/partnership to employing staff and so provided them with guidance and coaching support on recruitment related issues.

Integral to her career, she has developed workable solutions to support all businesses, whether a large international or a growing SME and her agile working and ability to adapt to suit different business needs. is at the heart of her consultancy business, ensuring that businesses remain agile too, to attract and retain the right people in time and cost effectively.
